Itineraries

Day 1

HCM City - Vung Tau - Ho Tram (L)

First you’ll depart HCM City and drive to Can Gio. You’ll then take a pleasant boat trip in the protected mangrove forest in Can Gio, one of the important biosphere reserves in Vietnam. You’ll then take a ferry across the estuary bay to reach Vung Tau (120km). Once there you’ll be invited to hop on a vehicle to drive along the beach front road to visit Villa Blanche, a property formerly owned by King Bao Dai. The villa was built on a hillside looking over the bay. It’s an elegant specimen of colonial architecture with the interior converted into a small museum displaying a collection of unique antiques.

The sightseeing tour in Vung Tau continues. You won’t be able to help but take in the great sight of the giant Christ the Redeemer statue prominently standing on a hilltop. The statue resembles that of another Christ statue located in Corcovado, Rio de Janeiro. If you have time and feel fit enough, you’re more than welcome to hike up 700 plus stone steps to the hilltop. Next to the feet of Christ and flanking on both sides are two imposing cannons pointing toward the bay, giving an odd juxtaposition of the Prince of Peace flanked by two weapons of war.

After the visit to Vung Tau, you’ll take the next 50 km drive on the scenic coastal road to Ho Tram by going along a series of sand strips. Once in Ho Tram you’ll then check into one of the luxury resorts.
