Description
Half day trip to Bac Ninh with the artisan’s workshop of Dong Ho wood-block painting, and the pottery village of Bat Trang.
Embark on an immersive half-day cultural journey from Hanoi to two of the Red River Delta’s most iconic craft villages.
Your local guide and driver will first take you across the Red River to Dong Ho, the centuries-old birthplace of traditional Vietnamese woodblock printing. While the craft has modernized, you will visit a dedicated preservation workshop to discover how artisans create natural pigments from oyster shells and charred leaves. Then, roll up your sleeves for a hands-on experience, using authentic wooden blocks to ink and stamp your very own folk painting to keep as a souvenir.
Next, a short drive brings you to Bat Trang, the region’s premier pottery capital. Step inside the striking architectural marvel of the Bat Trang Ceramic Museum to explore its heritage archives and striking contemporary clay art installations. Afterward, dive into the bustling central marketplace to shop for exquisite porcelain, or head to a local workshop to try your hand at the potter’s wheel under an artisan’s guidance.
Following a captivating glimpse into Vietnam’s living heritage, your driver will comfortably return you to your hotel.
