Description
The tour begins as your driver and local guide escort you out of the city center, heading west toward the picturesque countryside of the former Ha Tay province. Your destination is the ancient village of Duong Lam, a remarkable site that has earned UNESCO Heritage status for its beautifully preserved rural heritage.
Your journey back in time starts at the iconic Gate of Mong Phu Village, a grand, weathered structure that has welcomed travelers for centuries. Stealing through the village, you will wander along narrow, winding lanes flanked by distinctive, rustic walls built from local laterite clay. Your first major stop is the majestic Mong Phu Village Hall, the spiritual heart of the community, showcasing exquisite traditional architecture and decorative rooflines that evoke a bygone era.
Continuing deeper into the village, you will visit the serene Mia Pagoda, home to an incredible collection of ancient Buddhist statues. From there, you will head to the outskirts to pay respects at the historic Tomb of King Ngo Quyen, a sacred site shaded by a magnificent row of 1000-year-old trees. To truly connect with the local rhythm, you will pause at a charming, lane-side vendor to enjoy a taste of refreshing green tea paired with chè lam, a sweet and comforting local ginger sticky rice candy, while engaging with the friendly villagers.
After your deeply cultural visit, your driver will be ready to take you back to your hotel, ensuring a comfortable end to your journey.
