Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Welcome to Hanoi, Vietnam’s captivating capital, brimming with culture, history, and the unique contrasts of a rapidly evolving yet deeply traditional society. After the group meeting in the late afternoon, we set out on a walking tour around Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake) and the bustling Old Quarter. Here, the “36 Streets” provide an immersive look into the city’s architectural evolution and commercial heritage.
Day 2: Excursion To Ha Long (B/L)
Departure from the capital follows the coastal expressway for a comprehensive excursion to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Guests will board a premium vessel to navigate the karst topography of the Gulf of Tonkin. The six-hour cruise includes an inspection of the bay’s stalactite caverns, and magnificent kayak paddling among karst formations. Return to Hanoi is scheduled for late afternoon, leaving the evening at leisure.
Day 3: Hanoi To Mai Chau (B)
This morning, we’ll have a glimpse of the city with a visit to Ba Dinh Square where you can take a photo in front of the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and the National Congress Hall. The next visit is the Temple of Literature where the great Chinese philosopher and his teaching are revered. After lunch, start the journey out of the city heading toward the scenic Mai Chau Valley. Once arrived in Mai Chau, check in the homestay at a colorful ethnic Thai village nestled in a peaceful and beautiful corner of the valley. Spend the night at the homestay and enjoy the engaging dance show of the Thai villagers.
Day 4: Mai Chau To Hanoi. Night Train To Hue (B)
Kick off the day with a scenic cycling tour, pedaling along valley trails framed by towering mountains and passing through charming ethnic villages. Take in the breathtaking views and enjoy authentic interactions with the locals. Afterward, drive back to Hanoi, where you’ll stop at a guesthouse near the railway station to freshen up, change clothes, and repack your bags.
Board the SE3 train (scheduled for a 19:20 departure) for a comfortable 13-hour and 20-minute overnight journey to Hue, arriving at 08:40 the following morning. You will travel in an air-conditioned, 4-berth sleeper cabin.
Day 5: Hue (B)
The train arrives in Hue at around 9 a.m. After pick up from the railway station, the day is to explore Hue’s highlights. Our first stop is the iconic Imperial Citadel, the seat of Vietnam’s last imperial monarchy. Next, we cycle to Thuy Bieu village, making visits to the incense makers and the Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, a sprawling complex that includes his final summer residence. . Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant en route. Late afternoon, cycle to the boat dock for kayaking on the Perfume River.
Day 6: Hue To Hoi An (B)
We journey south and cross over the Hai Van Pass with stunning views of the coastline to reach Hoi An. Follow your guide on the walking tour in the Marble Mountains with a visit to the marble working workshop. In the outskirts of Hoi An Old Town, visit the nypa forest and have the exotic bamboo basket ride. Onward to Hoi An and check in hotel. On the evening walking tour, we’ll wander through the picturesque streets and narrow alleys, flanked by centuries-old yellow-walled houses.
Day 7: Danang To Saigon (B)
This morning, we transfer by car to Da Nang Airport for a flight to Saigon. Known by its former name, Saigon is Vietnam’s largest metropolis. We go to Cu Chi and visit the tunnels. Return to Saigon. The evening is free to explore the city.
Day 8: Mekong Excursion (B/L)
The day is to explore life in the Mekong Delta. Arrive in Cai Be and have the boat tour with Mekong Travel that includes a visit to a beautiful vintage house. Lunch is included. Onward by boat to Ut Trinh Home stay. Fish catch experience. Dinner is included with local delicacies.
Day 9: Back To Saigon (B)
Begin your day with a serene morning boat trip alongside Ut Trinh, drifting through scenic waterways and experiencing local river life at its finest. Afterward, depart for the bustling energy of Saigon. Conclude your day with a powerful and deeply moving visit to the War Remnants Museum, where you will gain profound insights into the nation’s poignant history through its extensive exhibits and photographs. It is a perfect blend of tranquil nature and compelling cultural discovery.
Day 10: Departure (B)
The day is free at your leisure until your transfer to the Tan Son Nhut International Airport for your outbound flight. Trip concludes. We wish you a pleasant flight.
