Description
Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, is Vietnam’s largest city and commercial hub, renowned for its vibrant streets filled with street vendors, cyclos, food stalls, shops, and bustling markets. This dynamic city pulses with energy, offering visitors a unique and immersive experience.
Your tour begins with a private guide and vehicle from your hotel. The first stop is a visit to some of the city’s most iconic and historic sites, including the War Museum. This museum features an array of military artifacts, including tanks, airplanes, artillery, and small arms, making it a fascinating introduction to the city’s rich history.
A short transfer will then bring you to the Reunification Hall, a key landmark in Vietnam’s modern history. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the various floors of the building, including the main hall where the 1976 conference to reunify the country took place, as well as the underground tunnels and emergency command quarters.
Following this, a brief walk through a nearby park will lead you to Cathedral Square, home to two of Saigon’s most significant examples of French colonial architecture: the Notre Dame Basilica and the Central Post Office. Both structures, dating back to the late 19th century, are popular backdrops for wedding photography today.
The afternoon is dedicated to exploring local arts and crafts. Your visit includes the Fine Arts Museum, where you will gain insight into the evolution of Vietnamese painting and sculpture. You will also visit the Thien Hau Temple, a gathering place for the local Chinese community, notable for its intricate ceramic works on the roof ridges. To conclude, you will explore a lacquerware center, where you can observe the entire process of creating lacquer art.
