Day 1 - Arrive
Welcome to Hanoi, Vietnam’s captivating capital, brimming with culture, history, and the unique contrasts of a rapidly evolving yet deeply traditional society. After the group meeting in late afternoon, we set out on a walking tour around Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake) and the bustling Old Quarter. Here, the “36 Streets” provide an immersive look into the city’s architectural evolution and commercial heritage.
Day 2 - Hanoi (B)
Embark on a full-day exploration of Hanoi, starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, the One Pillar Pagoda, a historic symbol of the city. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and the National Museum of Vietnam History, home to a rich collection of artifacts showcasing Vietnam’s past. Visit the impressive Ethnology Museum, dedicated to the diverse cultures of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. In the afternoon, explore Hoan Kiem Lake and its sacred temple, followed by a trip to the vibrant Dong Xuan Market. End the day with a performance of Hanoi’s renowned water puppets. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3 - Hanoi To Halong Bay (B/L/D)
Today we travel to Halong Bay, a magical creation of nature in the form of thousands of half-submerged karst pillars. Here we have an overnight exploration cruise on board of a traditional wooden junk. Sail through this remarkable bay aboard a traditional wooden junk boat, taking in views of the towering karst pillars and exploring impressive stalactite-filled caves.
Day 4 - Ha Long Bay To Hoi An
After the night away from the civilized world, wake up in the tranquil settings of the bay. Continue with the morning cruise while the junk glides through further dramatic scenery before heading back to the harbor in Halong. Upon disembarkation we take the drive to Noi Bai Airport for your flight to Danang where you’ll stay overnight at a beautiful beach resort.
Day 5 - Hoi An and Danang
Follow your guide on a scenic walking tour over the low karst hills of the Marble Mountains, discovering hidden cave temples, stunning panoramic viewpoints, and historic marble-carving workshops. Afterward, head to the outskirts of Hoi An to explore the lush Nypa palm forest and experience a thrilling, traditional bamboo basket boat ride. Conclude your day with a guided walking tour through the quaint, UNESCO-listed port town of Hoi An Old Town, wandering past its picturesque streets, narrow alleys, and iconic centuries-old yellow-walled houses.
Day 6 & 7 - Free Day in Hoi An
These two days are yours to spend at leisure. Unwind by the pool, bask on the beach, enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea, or explore Danang and nearby Hoi An. Take this time to fully relax and recharge.
Day 8: Danang to Saigon
In the morning, catch a flight to Saigon and journey to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a complex network of underground tunnels and bunkers built during wartime for guerilla shelter. Returning to the city, stroll through wide boulevards lined with colonial-era buildings from the French occupation of the 19th century. Highlights include the Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office.
Day 9: A Day in the Mekong Delta
Head to the Mekong Delta for an immersive journey through Ben Tre province. Upon arrival, board a boat to explore the vast network of waterways, canals, and serene rural landscapes surrounding Tam Hiệp Island. Along the way, stop to visit traditional kilns to see how coconut shells are converted into activated charcoal. Next, glide down tranquil, narrow canals in a rowing boat before strolling through expansive longan orchards to enjoy fresh fruit and honey tea with a local family. From there, embark on a scenic bike tour, pedaling past lush groves before stopping for a traditional lunch at a local home. A peacful cruise back to My Tho and transfer back to Saigon.
Day 10: Phan Thiet
Head toward the coast with a stop at Ta Cu Mountain. You will ascend the peaks via a scenic cable car ride, offering panoramic views of the surrounding dragon fruit plantations. Once at the top, take a short, invigorating hike through the forest to discover the magnificent Reclining Buddha, one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Continue the journey to the seaside town of Mui Ne, famous for its dramatic coastline and Mediterranean-like climate.
Day 10 & 11: Relax in Phan Thiet.
