Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Welcome to Vietnam! Your local guide and chauffeur take you to town. We leave the rest of the day for your leisure to while off the jet lag and acclimatize yourself. If you arrive in the morning, we have some interesting optional activities in the afternoon or evening ready upon your request.
Day 2: Hanoi to Mai Chau
Start the cycling adventure with the destination of the day being Mai Chau Valley. It is 35 km of selected cycling route going up moutain passing spectacular scenery. We spend the night in the comfortable eco-lodge.
- Cycling distance: ~35km / 2.5 hours
- Terrain: Winding mountain tarmac, moderate climbs, and scenic descents.
Day 3: Mai Chau to Ninh Binh
Depart Mai Chau and drive down mountain towards Ninh Binh. En route we hop on the bike and peddal through one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Vietnam, passing picturesque karst hills rising out of rice paddies.

- Terrain: Flat village lanes, unpaved paths, and quiet country roads.
Day 4: Ninh Binh to Ha Long
From the hotel we cycle to Tam Coc from where we take a magnificent two-hour sampan ride through imposing karst cliffs and tunnels. Then we visit the Thai Vi Temple and continue to Truong Yen to visit the worship complex dedicated to Dinh and Le Kings of the 10th century. Afternoon we hop on the van and drive towards Halong Bay.

- Terrain: Flat, paved paths and dirt tracks running alongside limestone cliffs.
Day 5: Halong to Hue
In the morning is for the bay cruise when we explore the stunning scenery of the world famous Halong Bay. Get back to shore around noon. After lunch we drive back to Hanoi and fly from there to the old imperial city of Hue.
Day 6: Hue
Embark the local dragon boat and cruise up the Perfume River until we arrive at Thien Mu Pagoda. We visit the pagoda before hopping on the bicycle and peddle on country lanes to the majestic tombs of the emperors Minh Mang and Khai Dinh. For dinner, we will visit the beatiful garden home of Vinh Tu and taste the traditional cuisine.

Day 7: Hue to Hoi An
In the morning we visit the Citadel of Hue, UNESCO World Heritage Site and most important landmark of the city. Drive south toward Danang where we visit the Cham Museum and admire a superb collection of sculptures from the Champa era. Following the country roads with peaceful view of the peasantry settlements we cycle towards Hoi An.

- Terrain: Flat coastal roads, paved village pathways.
Day 8: Hoi An
Set out on a walking tour during which we explore Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its small streets and picturesque waterfront promenade. Then we cycle out of town towards a fisheman village. Here we learn how to cast a fishing net and pick up the skill of handling the bamboo basket on water surface. That is fun and memorable. Cycle back to town.

- Terrain: Flat, narrow paved village lanes and concrete dyke paths.
Day 9: My Son
Today’s destination for our biking trip is My Son, the former religious centre of the Champa civilization once expanding over the entire strech of Central Vietnam. After an introduction at the visitor center, we walk through the earth paths in the middle of green rolling hills in search of the last preserved sights.
- Cycling distance: ~40km / 3 hours
- Terrain: Gently rolling asphalt and countryside roads with light undulations.
Day 10: Hoi An to Saigon
In the morning we fly to Saigon. First, we take a short drive through the suburb and expanses of rubber plantation to visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, a network of underground bunkers and communication tunnels built by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Later we drive back to Saigon’s center and have the evening at leisure.
Day 11: Saigon to Cai Be
Our next area to explore with the bike is the Mekong Delta. We take the bus to Long An. from where we start our journey on the pedals towards Cai Be. We pass by peaceful rural villages and scenic rice fields, and we will make a number of interesting stops en route. Spend the night at a quiet ecolodge on the side of the Mekong.

- Terrain: Flat, narrow concrete pathways and unpaved canal banks.
Day 12: Cai Be to Can Tho
Hop on a motor sampan and visit some cottage factories where we learn how to make rice and coconut snacks. Then steer the boat into smaller canals for more sightseeing. Get back to shore and take a short drive to the start of our cycling route. Hop on the bike again and enjoy the scenic countryside while cycling towards Can Tho.

- Terrain: Flat, concrete orchard paths, rustic bridges, and village dikes.
Day 13: Can Tho to Saigon
Early morning boat trip to witness the bustling Cai Rang Floating Market at its chaotic peak. Watch hundreds of wooden vessels trade everything from pineapples to watermelons. Following a vehicle transfer from Cai Rang to Long Ho market, embark on a flat, scenic 25-kilometer bicycle ride. Pedal along quiet canal paths to Mang Thit, marveling at the picturesque, dome-shaped brick kilns lining the Thay Cai waterways. Conclude at Vinh Long market before a comfortable private drive back to Saigon.

- Terrain: flat ride along narrow concrete village paths, orchard tracks, canal dikes.
Day 14: Departure from Saigon
You are at leisure till transfer time. If you have late flight we will arrange extra activities or accommodation upon your request. We wish you a good journey home.
