How should you read the dates?
- Confirmed — a fixed calendar date or a lunar-calendar date. Vietnam’s lunar dates are computed for the Vietnam time zone and cross-checked against the 2025 and 2026 calendars; they will not move.
- Announced — the organiser has published dates. Rare this far out, so treat it as a strong signal.
- Expected — the event follows a stable annual pattern but 2027 dates are not yet published. Pencil it in, confirm before you sell it.

- Tet in Hoi An and Hue (4–10 Feb). Lanterns, flower markets, imperial rituals; cities empty of traffic. Book by November.
- Northern festival week (11–21 Feb). Perfume Pagoda, Lim, Yen Tu and Ha Long from a Hanoi base — the densest heritage week of the year.
- Hung Kings’ weekend in Ninh Binh (15–18 Apr). Hoa Lu Festival plus Trang An; sell to clients who like a festival without a crowd of foreigners.
- Fireworks and lanterns (mid-June). A DIFF Saturday in Da Nang, the 18 June lantern night in Hoi An and two beach days between — the easiest Central Vietnam sale of the summer.
What should agents plan around in H1 2027?
- Tet week: museums, many restaurants and most tour offices close for two to three days from 6 February; trains and domestic flights are full from 3 to 11 February. Price and confirm early.
- Three domestic long weekends (Tet, 16–18 April, 30 April–3 May) push beach and hill-station rates up; cities are the contrarian buy.
- Lantern nights: Hoi An hotels within the ancient town sell out first; Da Nang beach hotels 30 minutes away rarely do.

Saturday 6 February 2027, the Year of the Goat. The Ministry of Home Affairs has proposed a seven-day holiday from 4 to 10 February (favoured) or ten days from 5 to 14 February; the decision is expected in autumn 2026.
